"Error trace" for Java resource"
I guess you are referring to a Java callout, and you would like to see error messages generated by same?
There are a couple options, depending on your specific requirements.
When I am building a Java callout, I typically include a "debug" property on the callout. When it is true, then the callout will catch Exceptions and log the stack trace to a context variable. This will show up in Trace, so it's easy to diagnose the source of the problem at runtime. An example here: https://github.com/DinoChiesa/ApigeeEdge-Java-Hashcash/blob/master/project/callout/src/main/java/com...
The above works for diagnosing ONE call.
If on the other hand you want logging of thousands of transactions, then I suggest using the Java callout to write to Stackdriver. Or Splunk, or Sumo, or whatever log aggregator you have for your own systems.
