Here is the sixth 4MV4D " API Proxy Flows" part of Programming of APIs series that talks about the concept of API Proxy Flows in Apigee Edge Proxy.
It's a very interesting & important concept when it comes to designing APIs & building API Proxies in Apigee Edge. It's one of my favorite concepts. You can do many things in API Proxy by leveraging this concept.
API Proxy flows is the place where you attach the policies. You will use Proxy Endpoint Preflow to execute policies no matter what, like Quota checking. You will use conditional flows to conditionally execute a set of policies. Like, I would like to execute JSON to XML policy only on certain API paths which give JSON as a response. Similar to preflow, postflow executes no matter what after conditional flow.
