How many microgateways should be created for an API, if the API is subscribed by various consumers and I don't want to give the same key for each consumer? Is it correct if we create as many gateways as the number of consumers?

How do we monitor the API's if they are alive or not even though they are not accessed by the end users and if we want to check the API on an hourly basis is there any tool for that?
