we seem to be hitting the hosted targets limit for an org, but it does not give the message LIMIT REACHED. it just gives a vague 500 error message

we have a team that is deploying some node js hosted targets and we want to be able to monitor these. is there a way we can do an API query as to how many are already in use / left. I know we can only deploy a limited number of hosted targets per org.
