Query related to Drupal 7 Developer Portal - End of Hosting

Hi All,

Need your help in identifying whether this Drupal 7 Developer Portal - End of Hosting is applicable to us. Could you please go through following details and let me know if any action required.

Actually I am looking after some APIGEE announcement wrt to Drupal7 based portal. Stated that ‘Apigee will no longer sponsor hosting of Drupal 7-based developer portals (D7P)’. see the link below,

https://docs.apigee.com/api-platform/publish/drupal/d7-end-of-hosting-faq

This is my understanding.

  1. We have this DRUPAL Portal running on On-Prem host servers(RHEL7). So I am assuming that, it's a self-hosted portal?
  2. I have control(edit/update) on PHP conf file and apache httpd conf/.htaccess files. My understanding is, if portal is not a self hosted one, we won't have access to these conf files. Isn't it ?
  3. It seems in the above announcement, they are referring to the hosting D7P through APIGEE webOS platforms like – Pantheon and Acquia.
  4. All On-Prem customers (D7P portal), can continue to use D7 as is. The impact will be for CLOUD based customers.
  5. Found some warning message on deprecated modules. If we are migrating to D8 in future, we need to take following actions ? The following enabled modules, whose code lives under /profiles/apigee/modules/contrib, will be removed from a future version of Dev Portal. You should either disable these modules or copy their code into /sites/all/modules/contrib.

Let me know your views.

Thanks,

Imran

@Mohammad Shaik - Your understanding for 1,2,3 and 4 are right. Announcement does not apply to private cloud (on-prem) customers. Regarding 5, refer to https://community.apigee.com/questions/81308/drupal-upgrade-from-d7-to-d8.html , it goes over migration to D8.
