Splunk Integration from Drupal Developer Portal

Hi,

I wanted to understand ways to log messages from Drupal developer portal to Splunk via Apigee edge .I am planning to creating an api proxy to send data to an existing backend which logs the messages to Splunk from edge but what is the best way to retrieve the logs from drupal portal and send it to Apigee edge .

We are on Drupal 7 now on Acquia cloud.

Also ,it there any better approach to this?

You can create a custom module that implements hook_watchdog(): https://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/modules%21system%21system.api.php/function/hook_watchdog/7.x.
