What is the best Design pattern to consume data from Azure Datawarehouse and host the consumed data as an API in APIGEE Gateway.

I have a use case as below:- There is a master database in which users data is stored in Azure Datawarehouse and we want to host this data to the consumer as an API and we have chosen APIGEE as the API Management Platform.

There is no intermediate layer as such to query the data stored i n datawarehouse and convert the result set retrieved from the database as request/response from API to Datawarehouse. What is the best design to do this?

We thought of introducing Microservices in between APIGEE API and AZURE Datawarehouse, but not sure whether it is the best solution.

Can you please suggest some design patterns for the same, and what infrastructure components are required to accomodate the same?
