Apigee Monitoring availability

We are planning to set some alert using Apigee monitoring for some set of Proxies. When the API gateway itself not available(worst case scenarios) , whether Apigee monitoring can able to send alerts?

It will be also helpful if you share some documentation related to Physical Architecture of Apigee Monitoring along with Edge and how both are connected?

Yes, API Monitoring can certainly still send alerts even if the gateway itself is down. I'm afraid I don't currently have any documentation I can share on the physical architecture.
