MTLS - Self Signed Vs CSR (Third party Certified) with Apigee Cloud

Hi,

Need your input on MTLS (Self Signed Vs CSR with trusted third party certificate)

We are configuring Apigee Cloud (paid account) to client network (Load Balancer).with MTLS.

I was reviewing the product documentation for recommendation on Self Signed Vs CSR .It gives information about configuring steps for both the certificates in a detailed manner.

Does any one knows the Pros and Cons (if applicable) for Self Signed Vs CSR Signed third party certificate when connecting to Cloud.

This link and another gives few details, and would like to know if you have any additional inputs when configuring Apigee Cloud (Dev and Test) with Client (dev Environment) for .Self Signed Vs CSR with trusted third party certificate.

Self signed certs are free and third party certs typically have a fee asssociated. Either approach will work fine from Edge to load balancer. Most customers prefer to save money and therefore will use self signed for MTLS from Edge to targets.
