How can I enable Postgres Streaming Replication over SSL

By default the setup configured Master Standby replication to not use SSL, and currently, we do not have official instructions to do so.

It should be fairly straight forward to enable postgres streaming replication over SSL by modifying the postgres.conf on the master to enable SSL, and set hostssl in pg_hba.conf to force communication between standby and master to go via SSL.

However, there may be performance implications, and changes will be required in the code with config configuration in Apigee to make this possible.

Has anyone in the community tried this?

Does anyone have information about the possible performance implications if any?

Can anyone who has a requirement to enable streaming replication over SSL please let us know in a comment.

Many thanks!
