How can I use developer roles?

I found the API documentation of creating and viewing all developer roles, but I did not find how can I assign them to developers/companies. Is there a way to get all developers/companies with a specific role? What is the purpose of this sub-API? There is not much info about it here either.

@Siddharth Barahalikar I did not ask how can I assign developers to companies. I asked how can I assign developer roles to developers OR companies in Monetization API.

Developer category is mentioned here as MINT attribute, but developer role does not:
