Unclear feedback when logging in with unverified email

I've been logging in using password reset to login.apigee.com every time since login with user pass always failed, even immediately after resetting the password. Trying to change the password results in a generic 500 response and resetting password resulted in unallowed request about half the time.

Turns out every time i logged in, i got an email verification request in my spam folder and after verifying my email all of the above cases work fine.

Getting some kind of direct feedback that i need verify my email instead of generic errors would clarify that login isn't broken.
