In the screenshot above the Proxy Performance dashboard of the Node.js proxy shows that at certain times Proxy response time is greater than Target response time. In this case Apigee has Node.js app which sends requests to another API (backend). There are also two policies and each of them takes <1ms.
I assume Node.js execution will take <1ms time, then why average proxy response time is sometimes >200ms? What can be contributing to this?
If my Node.js app is calling another API at the backend then I assume target response time is time it takes to execute Node.js app in Apigee + sending request to backend + getting response from backend API + Node.js processing. If this is true, what is proxy response time and why it is sometimes longer than target response time?
