Intermittent UI System Authentication Error

Running Apigee OPDK 4.15.04 in our dev environment (I know, it's old).

We are seeing an issue where the UI intermittently returns an error while fetching object, internal error:

Digging through the UI logs, this appears to be related to the system authentication:

I tried resetting the system password, but the issue persists. I tried placing the call directly using curl and I get similar results. It works for a while, then it stops working, then works again, rinse and repeat.

The only related issue I can think of prior to this starting, is we had an issue with disk space on one of our Cassandra nodes that also servers Zookeeper. Could this be an issue of corruption in ZK where sometimes we get a good answer back and sometimes we don't? If so, is there anyway I can detect and correct this issue.
