Is it possible to have multiple active nodes and is there a limit for the number of management server nodes in a two data center setup

Yes, it is possible to have more than one Management Server node per DC. But it is rarely justified by requirements.

Ideally, if you have two or more DCs, a total of two Management Server across the planet (total number of DCs) is more than sufficient to meet requirements.
