Monitor for Excessive Proxy Calls

I am looking for guidance regarding proxy monitoring.

We have had a few occasions where customers wrote "bad" code and created a massive increase in API calls. I only noticed the increases because I happened to be running a trace.

What is the best approach for active proxy usage monitoring, per developer or company?

Is there some functionality I haven't yet seen to allow automated emails or alerts of some kind when a certain threshold is reached per developer or company?

If it's a sudden increase it should come in anomaly graph I presume . I remember seeing it there for sudden decrease .
