API Calls counting

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out the API call volume requirements. From what I understand, 1 API call that counts towards the quota is defined as 1 request in and response out.

Does that include 404s that doesn't go through the infrastructure to us?

How is a DDoS handled? How about Spike Arrests quotas?

Calls rejected by a Spike Arrest or Quota enforcement also count towards the API call volume quota. So are any responses based on processing logic in an API (like 404).
