Getting "Internal Error" when trying to call the api via smart docs in the developer portal

Using dev portal 17.05. Getting an "internal error has occurred when i try to send request using smart docs.. this is the screenshot of dev tools console output.. any idea?

So i tried the steps in the model and i get the same error but a different console message this time

From the first screenshot you had attached, it appears that the smartdocs proxy configuration is pointing to edge cloud. You can change it by following step 11 on the page: http://docs.apigee.com/developer-services/content/using-smartdocs-document-apis#models

Prior to this, you should have completed installing smartdocs: http://docs.apigee.com/private-cloud/latest/install-smartdocs
