looking for documentation for "references" APIGEE Edge Cloud

I just went through the process of updating my certificates within Apigee Edge Cloud. I noticed there was a new section called "references" within the console but can't find any documentation. the Apigee support person mentioned that using references would eliminate the need to recycle the message routers whenever a certificate change is made. Has anyone used "references" ?

Yes you don't need to restart the servers if you use references.
