API vs ETL vs Bus

Hello,

My company has arising integration needs, mainly to expose some data from our ERP and CRM for our BI Tool to acquire it.

We considered using Boomi to achieve this, but API management has also arisen as a tool that could help us.

Would API management work? How would you compare the capacities of an API management tool vs an ETL, vs a Bus?

An API management platform would work. However, solving a single point-to-point, relatively static integration between two platforms with APIs will not realize the value that APIs provide. It could even be more work, depending on the tools.

If your company is not interested in taking a new approach to building more robust and scalable solutions you may be better suited with a traditional ESB or even an ETL solution. Companies with an integration-centric view often struggle when trying to implement API management platforms. It's simply a fundamentally different approach to IT.
