Apigee Log Descriptions and Logging Levels

Not applicable

We are using an on-premise version of Apigee Edge and are integrating it with our Security Information and Event Management(SIEM) systems. Part of the process is to define security events in SIEM by parsing the logs. Are there any definitions of the types of log entries that Apigee produces? In particular, I am looking at the Edge Message processor's "system.log" and "transactions.log" and the Edge Management Server's "audit.log"

Also, is there away of setting the logging levels for the loggers. For example, the transactions.log file is too verbose.

@Wayne Irwin Have you considered using the Audit logs? - http://docs.apigee.com/api/audits-0

Apigee Edge generates audit logs automatically for all important management activities (proxy creation, deployment, user creation, app registration etc.).

You can configure log levels following this doc page - http://docs.apigee.com/private-cloud/latest/setting-log-level-edge-component
