Why edge policies are not avaiable in Edgemicro?

Edgemicro had the goal of being very small and lightweight, trivial to install, and trivial to configure. To meet those goals, we chose a model with fixed function that is configured by setting simple property values only. OAuth is built-in—you don't have to configure it.

The function you are asking for makes sense, but would be a different product—let's call it, hypothetically, Edgemini. Edgemini would be deployable in many of the same places that Edgemicro is deployable, and Edgemini would be configured using the same rich DSL that is used to configure proxies on Edge. Edgemini would be a major engineering effort, because the "policy engine" that executes the Edge DSL would have to be able to execute remotely from all the infrastructure it depends on (databases, caches, queuing services etc.). We are considering the possibility of an Edgemini-like product, but we are not making any promises at this time.
