Can we upload "shared" assets on Edge?

Can I upload an assets to the Edge which is NOT associated with any entity on Edge?

I need to keep some "Excel" file consisting of details of data, associated with the particular instance of Edge. This data will be unique for the instance of Edge.

@sanjay , You can always use KVM to store Edge Org specific data. Any reason you are considering "Excel" file in specific ?

@Anil Sagar, I need to keep data associated with proxies published at a particular instance of Edge, which cannot be a KVM.

Can I upload an Excel file to Edge, as a ResourceFile. As per apigee documentation it supports the following type of file for Importing on Edge:

(jsc, java, py, node, xsl, wsdl, xsd)

I tried Post and Get of a Excel file and it worked for me. Is there any known issue if I upload and Excel resource file on Edge?
