How to set hostname inside docker box which needs to set in /etc/hosts?

In a regular installation its easy to set /etc/hosts with VM ip, But how can set this in the docker box while creating it.

@pankaj singh patel I have not had to do this with Docker myself but I know of this issue. There is a less than desirable workaround mentioned in the third post.
