DNS Lookup performance?

i'm seeing something odd in our API testing scripts that I think might be due to the clients first taking a long time to resolve the DNS of my Apigee Edge domain compared to our flagship digital property.

What is the typical cause for this?

I've reviewed with some of our internal experts and they mentioned we do use our CDN provider to optimize the cache for our domain. This would substantially improve lookup times for new client because it can dynamically move the DNS server closer. Resulting in less hops to the dns provider.

Has anyone in the community used third party technologies to gain an advantage?

Hey Kris, can you provide any specific metrics on the DNS lookup latency? Do you have a test script that demonstrates the differential ?
