To use different domain name than apigee.net

Not applicable

Hi

I am using apigee cloud version. I want to use my domain name instead of apigee.net. Can someone please explain what I need to do? I read in apigee documentation that I need to contact apigee to create a virtual host. Can someone please explain me the process?

Dear @Nirmal Maheshwari

1) For using your own domain name, first create the jar file with the help of below link

==> http://apigee.com/docs/api-services/content/keyst...

2) Then create keystore with the help of below smart doc link which will store the above jar.

==>http://apigee.com/docs/management/apis/post/organi...

After uploading the jar to the keystore contact Apigee Support to create virtual host and specify the detail of "Keystore name" and "Host alias" which you to use as a Cname.

Dear @Nirmal Maheshwari,

We don't support API White Labelling (Custom Domain Names) for free orgs. Find more details here. If you have a Paid Edge Account, then contact Apigee Support here.

Cheers,

Anil Sagar

@Anil Sagar

Hi Anil, thanks for a quick response but in Apigee site documentation it is written that

After Apigee Customer Support creates the virtual host, they return to you the CNAME used to access your virtual host. It is then up to you to create a DNS record for your domain, for example api.myCompany.com, that references the CNAME.

Is this also for the paid accounts.

Can i know the cost of the paid Edge account somehow, I tried reaching the sales office many times, but without any use. Can you please give me some contact

@Nirmal Maheshwari , Yes, It's for paid accounts only. Pricing info is available here.

@Anil Sagar @ Google: does the Team account support this?

Thank you @Madhumita Kumari for details.. Just a note , @Nirmal Maheshwari above is applicable only for paid Apigee Edge Accounts.

Hi @Nirmal Maheshwari,

As @Anil Sagar mentions, its possible only with paid accounts.

Now, if you still need to enable it for your free org, you could configure a reverse proxy for apigee [{org}-{env}.apigee.net] and CNAME the proxy to your domain name, then proxy can forward to apigee.

You could easily set this up with a ELB or apache or nginx

Thanks,

An updated answer to old question.
