Will Application Specific Passwords Work After Sept. 30 2024?

As stated in the subject, I am wondering whether existing app passwords ( 16-digit passcode ) will continue to work after Sept. 30 2024.  

Also, will it still be possible to create new app passwords after this date? 

At the bottom of the article it states: 

"If the app you are using does not support OAuth, you will need to switch to an app that offers OAuth or create an app password to access these apps." 

Which seems to suggest app passwords will still be supported.
