Does google plan to make Google Functions as fast (faster?) than AWS Lambda?

Hi there,

Knowing that Google is the company behind K8s, is it reasonable to expect GCP to be working on making Cloud Function the fastest in the market (raw speed and cold start)?

P.S.: Min-instance is a great feature for some use cases, but IMHO it brings extra complexity and cost if compared to Pay as you Go of Cloud Functions.

Any help/clue would be appreciated.

Cheers

The introduction of  "--min-instance" parameter during the cloud function deployment intends to reduce the cold start time: https://cloud.google.com/blog/products/serverless/cloud-functions-supports-min-instances .
