Hosting a google sheet, using GOOGLEMAPS_DISTANCE

I'm hosting a google sheets project for colleagues and I'm using the GOOGLEMAPS_DISTANCE function.

At times, users get the error:
Error Exception: Service invoked too many times for one day: route. (line 6).

I've purchased an API KEY and I want to know how to implement the API KEY so end users don't see this error when using the google sheet.
