On the morning of February 27, 2024, at approximately 10:00 AM Eastern Time, the Google SAS team received notification from Baicells that some Baicells CBSDs were experiencing issues. A subsequent investigation was conducted in collaboration with Baicells, which revealed that the issue was due to a release procedure on the Baicells Domain Proxy (DP). No issues were discovered on the Google SAS side, and Google SAS is operating as intended. Customers utilizing Baicells devices that are impacted are advised to follow the specific steps outlined in Baicells’ status page to rectify this issue.
Unless there are specific instructions from a user or vendor, as a general guideline, Google SAS advises that in the event of grant loss due to DP/CBSD or hardware-related issues, CBSDs/DPs should avoid deregistration as this behavior releases reserved EIRP on existing grants, resulting in lower day 1 power because deregistration causes the loss of reserved grants. Ideally, DPs/CBSDs should relinquish and request the same grants and thereby receive authorization at the previous EIRP.
