GCP VM Legacy BIOS

Is it possible to boot the Google Compute Engine using Legacy BIOS?

I'm lead to believe that users cannot change the default BIOS the VMs run on.
May I ask you to further explain what you're trying to achieve?
Would it be a feasible workaround for you to test the solution in question with Nested Virtualization, maybe?

Hi,

Are you performing a migration or what?

Hi guys. Sorry for the late reply. This was already solved. We used an old version of the image where Legacy BIOS enabled. And yes, this is problem which we encounted during a VM migration using a 3rd-party tool. The migrated VM has failed to bootup on GCP side. We discovered that the on-prem VM was using Legacy BIOS and once migrated, it cannot use UEFI.
