We are purposely keeping Drupal core from upgrading so that we have time to review and validate our Apigee Edge module with the Drupal core release.

We currently have the pull request Add compatibility with Drupal core 8.8.0 that we are reviewing and will release soon. Feel free to give it a try and let us know if you see any issues in that PR. Thanks!

We will be putting out a new release for Apigee Edge with this change soon.

You are welcome. An update: we also have a PR on upgrading Kickstart in case you are using that distribution.
