What is the recommended practice for running and connecting to edgemicro docker container for local development?

I've just started working with edgemicro docker image. Is it possible run a local instance of the docker image on Windows machine for local development? Or what is recommended pattern for local development. (Will ultimately be deployed to K8s cluster)
