Split function in Assign Message Policy

Hello All,

 I have requirement to split the field based on "character" and rearrange it. Could we use Split function in Assign message policy? we could do it in Javascript, wanted to know whether we could do it in AM policy using message templates

as far as I am aware there is no "split" function available within Message Templates in Apigee.
