SmartDoc description and Forum notes are not visable for non-admin users

I'm having an issue where SmartDoc descriptions are only showing "[body]" when you login with a non-admin user. I've been testing out different permissions, but have been unable to figure out what is causing this issue.

Also, I'm having a similiar issue where the forum notes are not displaying for non-admin users. They are able to see things added in a reply, but not the original post. I tried adding the advanced forum model to get the added permissions, but couldn't discover a fix

Had to go into Field Permissions and had to grant permission to authenticated users to "View anyone's value for field body".
