Smart docs uses which tool on uploaded JSONs/YAMLs Swagger or custom API tool?

Currently smart docs uses which tool on uploaded JSONs/YAMLs, swagger or the custom API tool designed by Apigee? As when it comes to uploading files (JSON/YAML) there are four options in drop list 1) Swagger JSON 2)Swagger YAML 3) Smartdocs JSON 4)WADL ..... 1&2 appear to have swagger syntax checks on uploaded files whereas 3rd appears to be a non swagger format.

Custom UI designed by Apigee customized using SmartDocs module that you find in Apigee Developer Portal profiles/apigee/modules/devconnect. It doesn't use Swagger UI.

Yep, WADL / Swagger / OpenAPI Spec is converted into SmartDocs JSON spec once it’s uploaded into developer portal. Think like it’s intermediate spec that will be used to render SmartDocs.. Once you upload WADL / Swagger, You can download SmartDocs JSON spec.
