RBAC for forums in Dev portal

Does the Role Based Access Control in Dev Portal extends to the Forum?

I have two sets of users: internal and external.

I want to keep their discussions completely isolated on the forum.

Can I do that? If yes, how?

Yes, It's possible. Please find steps below.

  • Create two new users roles in developer portal. Internal & External. You can create a new role by navigating to "admin/people/permissions/roles"

  • Assign users to the roles by editing user accounts / navigating to "admin/people" page.

  • You can use Forum Access module to restrict certain forum topic to certain user roles / users. Install the contributed module & configure access restrictions. It should be simple & straight forward.
