we want to be able to add/remove MP in real time to adjust business demand and operating cost. we notice that when we add/remove MP (per apigee documented steps), the connection between the routers and the clients is closed for a short moment (like a second), the the connection is resumed. I checked the TCP dump, the router is sending a RST. I believe the MP add/remove operation, MS is sending a signal to the router to reload the NGINX in real time. The NGINX reload is supposed to be zero downtime. Am I missing anything? How can do this and avoid zero impact to the client?
