Mock scenarios for testing disaster recovery from backups

We are looking to test our disaster recovery abilities. What we lack is information on how to do so for OPDK. Is anyone willing to share their mock scenarios you've created in order to test your recovery processes?

Currently the only solution I have thought of is just running <apigee-component> recover and determining that runtime still works as expected.

This is a very basic way to determine if backup and recovery from backup is working.

We are following multiple options for Disaster recovery.

1. We have multi dc architecture in which both are active. Still, we do test for DR making one DC down and diverting traffic from the LB label to the other DC automatically. The same we do for the other DC as well. This ensures if one DC is impacted then other will handle the traffic.

2. Second step is daily backup. This still has the data loss chance when the backup is one day old.

3. Another major step we are taking is regular machine image. This really helps. We faced one rmp loosing directory structure. And the image helped us to back to normal within 5mins.

The step 1 , DR process is followed by most organization. I have experienced this with multiple organizations.
