Health check failing for apigee load balancer

The apigree proxy I provisioned is returning a 502 while testing. Upon introspection of the provisioned infrastructure, it seems that the apigree provisioned load balancer is failing its health check. Does anyone know how the default api proxy health check is supposed to be configured?

Its very frustrating when the google defaults don't work out of the box:

It looks like you haven't configured autoscaling as per Step 8c.3

Thanks guys, I ended up deleting the load balancer that was provisioned and everthing worked the second time.
