Gateway timeout error

I have json payload request about 5 MB ,
when i send this request , apigee return gateway timeout error.

note that when i tried request direct to backend , it works.

solution i made and did not work 
i tried to increase timeout using this property in target endpoint
<Property name="io.timeout.millis">
How can i solve this problem?

How long do you expect your backend to take to receive the request and how long does the backend take to send back a response?
