Different effect of TARGET_REQ_FLOW and REQ_SENT error state in trace

Hi Apigee Community,

We observed that when encountering a 502 error from our target server, we got a state of TARGET_REQ_FLOW, then 'Request sent to the target server' pane is not showing. But when we explicitly use the URL instead of the Target Server on Target endpoint, we got an error state REQ_SENT and the 'Request sent to the target server' pane is displaying.

What can be the explanation of this? Is this an Apigee bug?
