I was doing Google qwicklabs and I am facing the same issue and it's difficult to know which file has this invalid character . Really appreciate if someone can provide pointers where to look for ..

lo solucione con estos comandos

sudo apt-get install google-cloud-sdk-gke-gcloud-auth-plugin
export USE_GKE_GCLOUD_AUTH_PLUGIN=True
gcloud container clusters get-credentials CLUSTER_NAME
