Apigee is an API management company that provides software products to enable companies to enhance and establish successful API programs, to enable their digital transformation.
Apigee has two primary products:
- Apigee Edge
- Apigee Insights
The Apigee Edge product provides capabilities that are essential to managing API programs. For example, automative analytics on all API traffic; key and token validation on API requests; the ability to publish APIs to external developer portals; allowing consuming developers to self-register and get keys to become immediately productive; a turnkey graph JSON No-SQL datastore that can be used to augment or complement any API, and so on. Expicitly managing API traffic is essential for any information-driven company that wants to connect better with partners and customers.
Apigee Insights is a big-data analysis product that allows people to produce predictive scores for groups or even individuals based on the vast quantities of time-sequenced events or interactions that characterize the digital economy. By applying predictive analytics on interaction data collected using APIs and data lakes, and including contextual data such as weather and location or demographics, enterprises can analyze the customer journey across multiple channels, and predict what customers need next.
Edge and Insights are two different products, but are complementary to each other.
