Apigee X Monitoring with 3rdparty tools AppD/Splunk

Hi All,

We come across scenarios where  clients want to use App Dynamics/Splunk with Apigee X. I have few questions in this regard -

1. Apigee x Monitoring seems free/included with all the licenses now that Apigee X offers -https://cloud.google.com/apigee/docs/api-platform/reference/subscription-entitlements

But in terms of cost of monitoring what will be the implications/scope is not mentioned. What might be the drivers to choose between Apigee X monitoring and 3rd party tools. Can we link ApigeeX monitoring with AppD and pass Monitoring data  to AppD.

2. Is it possible to get similar REAL Time monitoring experience that Apigee X gives with the third party tools such as AppD. How will AppD capture Request, Response and Errors, time etc. real time.

3. I see there was an extension for Apigee and App Dynamics. But the metrics monitored by this seems to be same as Apigee Analytics and Apigee Analytics/API is not real time so not sure can it be a substitute for real time monitoring that Apigee offers https://developer.cisco.com/codeexchange/github/repo/Appdynamics/apigee-monitoring-extension

4. What aspect of Apigee X can be monitored by the 3rdparty tools. Is it possible to get any insights/metrics of Apigee X Run time plane CPU,POd etc. as this component is in a different project managed by Google.

5. Came across this article where they mention to feed data from proxies to Splunk and then AppD will fetch Splunk data. But is this the recommended way to handle the integration with Apigee.
