Apigee Hybrid splunk logging leveraging post proxy flow hooks - performance is poor

I have followed this article(https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Apigee/why-flow-hooks-does-not-support-for-post-client-flow/...) to implement splunk logging...

When testing the performance for other proxy, it is taking huge time as there are many flows in the sequence and the 'service callout' in the postproxy flow hook sharedflow has the proxy chaining enabled to call logger proxy which has splunk logging service callout.. Anyone has any solution on how to fix this ?

Also any updates when the postclient flow flowhook support will be added to apigee hybrid ?

Appreciate any inputs/workarounds for this..
