Apigee Hybrid on AWS EKS and Anthos

Hi is it necessary to install anthos as a pre-requisite for Apigee Hybrid installation on AWS(EKS).

Some information says apigee Hybrid will come automatically with Anthos Service Mesh.

Is that a prerequisite for production grade setup.

Some information says it is version specific and not a mandatory component.

I am not clear is it required or an optional component. What role will it play if our runtime plane is on AWS(EKS). please throw some light. Also, will Apigee Hybrid licenses cover Anthos or it is an add-on.
