Apigee Hybrid Upgrade Nodes to GKE 1.24 with Containerd Support (Docker deprecated)

Hi,

We have apigee hybrid installation and for our nodepools we're using GKE 1.23.12 - Container-Optimized OS with Docker (cos). 

The node pool has auto upgrade enabled

As Docker support will be removed from GKE s 1.24 version We want to know whether we need to upgrade to or change Node image to use container d ourselves or it will be taken care automatically as we have auto upgrade enabled.

If we try to change the image through gcloud console it seems the change option is disabled.

What are the steps/checks or measures we need to take to ensure that the upgrade happens smoothly and verify post-upgrade that all apigee components are working correctly
