Apigee API hub is now available in public preview

Apigee API hub is now available in public preview. This new component of the Apigee API management platform helps centralize all your API information from across your enterprise together in one place. A universal API catalog, API hub accommodates APIs of any style (OpenAPI, gRPC/protobuf, AsyncAPI, SOAP/WSDL, GraphQL, etc) and any lifecycle stage or gateway choice. Use its powerful taxonomies to organize your portfolio of APIs, for example by business unit or specific gateway type. Anyone in your company can then use API hub to discover information about the APIs available to them as employees.

We know from listening to our customers that as a company builds more APIs, it becomes harder to track all its API assets. Similarly, when internal API users do not have a central place to discover information about any API, they are more likely to duplicate rather than reuse, which leads to expensive inefficiencies. When paired with governance policies, you can shape the growth of your API landscape, creating guidelines promote consistency and helping teams to go faster. And since each business will organize its services with different principles, a powerful taxonomy system supports such customization.

API hub's user experience is built on top of our open source API registry project. The API registry service provides a robust set of APIs and metadata management features that support deep customization. You can integrate developer toolchains directly with the API registry APIs or the included command line tool. Data can be imported from spreadsheets, directories, and an experimental Kubernetes-style YAML-based configuration model.

API hub is a core entitlement that is free to Apigee X and hybrid subscribers. Apigee subscribers (paid or trial orgs) can now deploy an API hub—begin with the "Get started" guide and then follow the provisioning instructions.

If you have feedback or questions, we'd love to hear from you! Either use the built-in feedback tool in the help menu or create a new post with the "API Hub" label in this community.
