Customer Domains for Integrated Portals do not use Keystore References

When you set up a custom domain with your integrated portal, you are required to have a Keystore (containing a certificate & key) within the portal environment. But there is no need to set up a reference to this Keystore. This is handled automatically by Apigee behind the scenes. In fact, you will see that there is no 'portal' environment option in your Environments -> References page.

Instead, as outlined here, when you configure a portal domain (in Publish -> Portals -> PORTAL_NAME -> Settings -> Domains ), Apigee will:

- Create the appropriate Virtual Hosts within the 'portal' environment of the Edge organization

- Create an API proxy for routing HTTP requests served by the Virtual Hosts to the given portal

Of course, be sure to follow all the relevant steps in the documentation, such as Domain registration, certificate creation, Keystore creation, and adding a CNAME to the domain.
